The Palace on Wheels is India’s first luxury tourist train launched by the Indian Railways in joint collaboration with Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation to promote tourism in Rajasthan. The train was launched in 1982. The train has been renamed as Heritage Palace on Wheels.  the palace on wheels, India’s  esteemed luxury tourist train, is set to embark on a new journey by offering onboard wedding and ceremonial services. Starting July  20, 2024 , couples will have the opportunity to exchange vows while traversing through picturesque destination such as Udaipur , Jaipur , Sawai Madhopur , Chittorgarh , Jaisalmer , Jodhpur , Bharatpur , and Agra.

This novel service, facilitated through a recent partnership with a travel company, promises to elevate celebrations against the backdrop of Rajasthan’s cultural splendor.

Traditionally favored by international tourists due to its premium pricing, the Palace on Wheels aims to broaden its appeal with a strategic initiative targeting Bollywood celebrities, Indian business magnates, and other prominent figures. By doing so, the train seeks to bolster revenue streams and position itself as a coveted venue for special events within India’s vibrant cultural tapestry.

 

 

Priced at an average daily rate of up to one lakh rupees per person, the Palace on Wheels exemplifies exclusivity and luxury. This new venture not only aims to rejuvenate tourism but also aims to establish the train as a unique destination for unforgettable experiences amidst India’s rich heritage.

The train is completely self- sufficient and is fully air-conditioned, Each cabin has attached toilers, specially facilitated for the global luxury traveler with all modern amenities such as wifi, mini pantry, music channel, a safe, wall to wall carpeting etc. Each saloon also has a personal attendant, also known as khidmatgars, at your service.

You would find the royal past you etched into the historical coaches. The carriages are uniquely named after famous Palace & Forts of Rajasthan. The Rich Interiors of the Cabins are Either in Hues of Ruby, Turquoise Or Pearl

There are Two Resto-Bar lounges on the train & an aryurvedic spa facility. Complimentary Wi-fi services are also made available through sharing dongles.

The two Ding Cars are Called Maharaja & Maharani & the attached Kitchen Saloon serves freshly cooked international cuisine.
