Rajakkad Estate is situated in the Hills of Palani in Southern India (Tamil Nadu). Pa llam Palace is the house that sits at the heart of the old Rajakkad plantation. It is a small garden hotel with seven bedrooms, with a forest and coffee plantation all around the palace. HISTORY
Rajakkad estate was constructed in the 18th century with the wooden structure, which perfectly shows the culture of the south. It is a complete structure of wood. The wood used in the infrastructure of Rajakkad is drawn from the forests of Western Ghats. All the interlocking beams, roof, pillars etc. are made from the wood.
ROOMS
There are seven luxury and comfortable rooms with attached bathrooms. The seven rooms contain three deluxe king-size or twin, three queen size and one standard king-size or twin and they also provide an extra bed for a child if requested. Each room is connecting with the garden with privately sliding doors.
The interior of the wall is white with a black oxide floor, which provides the cooling and simple contrast to the wooden structure. The furniture, paintings and carpets in the rooms are unique in designs. The fine linen cotton bed sheets, comfortable quilts and pillows are used to make the beds. The bathrooms are clean and hygienic, and white cotton South Indian towels are provided in the bathrooms.
CUISINE
The cuisine is proper south Indian like Idli-sambhar, Wada, Dosa, etc. They use fresh and quality ingredients to make the delicious food which comes from the small farm run by the Rajakkad estate. All the food is freshly cooked and hygienic like home. They also packed lunch for the guests who want to go trekking.
They provide healthy and light breakfast like fresh juices, eggs, fruits from the farm as Rajakkad estate is the classic coffee country, so they provide fresh coffee to guests.
GARDEN
There is a delightful garden in the palace surrounded by the many trees, shrubs, and beautiful flowers of different colors which make the garden more attractive.
The breakfast, morning coffee, and afternoon tea can all be served in the garden. The garden site provides the view of surrounding plantation, forest, and the distant mountains.
